At a client’s home that has been weatherized to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs.
Guided by service, compassion and fairness, Community Action of Ventura County’s (CA-VC) mission is to assist low-income, disadvantaged, and at-risk families and individuals, including seniors and youth, to become self-sufficient (http://www.ca-vc.org/).
One of the services that CA-VC offers is home weatherization for qualifying clients (http://www.ca-vc.org/Programs/Energy.aspx?menu=2).  At the request of the client, a weatherization specialist will visit a client’s home and assess the home for potential modifications which would increase energy efficiency.  Modifications may include: ceiling insulation, weather stripping of doors, low-flow showerheads, installation of energy efficient light bulbs, and replacement of hazardous furnaces and stoves.  Following the weatherization of the home, the client can expect to see a significant reduction in their energy bills.
This work is funded by the State of California, The Gas Company and the Edison Company and is available to qualifying home owners as well as renters/tenants.
