This evening, I attended the "listening meeting" hosted by Calif. Dept. of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) (http://www.dtsc.ca.gov/SiteCleanup/Santa_Susana_Field_Lab/index.cfm). The purpose was for DTSC to listen to the community to hear their suggestions regarding their involvement in the clean-up of the Santa Susana Field site. I think they heard that the community wants better communication, candid, accurate information, and action. I was impressed by the quality of the DTSC staff and am hopeful that we will see noticeable progress soon.
